     You can use ireb to install custom firmware. Google and you’ll find a tutorial how to downgrade your iDevice without SHSH blobs. I have downgraded my iPod touch 2G from iOS 4.1 to 4.0 without SHSH blobs.

   ok. i plugged the code into my MAC terminal, erased the apple server # and saved the file. i open umbrella and when i connect my iphone to the computer, umbrella closes on me without letting me save my SHSH!!! i don’t know why this keeps happening. any help??
   3gs on 4.0 no prior jailbreak/unlock.

     Yes You should use this tool to save your current firmware shsh blobs. That way if you accidentally upgrade to unjailbrake-able firmware you’ll be able to downgrade to a jailbreak-able one

   can anyone tell me, how can i know my current 3gs 4.0 new bootrom has save shsh blob on cydia previously? and how do i know my previous OS is 3.1.3 or 3.1.2? I just bought my iphone last week from the US.

   here’s the spec. of my phone:
   - iphone 3gs 16g
   - version 4.0 (8A293),
   - Model MB177LL,
   - Modem firmware 05.13.04

     Is it jailbroken? If it’s than go to cydia and on the home scree at the very top you should see SHSH 3.x files saved. If you don’t see this then there are not saved and can no longer saved them.
     If your not jailbroken then you have never saved them, so you should at save SHSH blobs for 4.0

   Is it fine if I backed up blobs with auto shsh. The later one. Think it’s called auto shsh rc. I saved the shsh file on my pc and to sauriks server. But I never had to modify the notepad file?? Or do I also have to do the above mentioned method?? I have an iPhone 3gs running 3.1.3. A response will be greatly Appreciated.

     run the TinyUmbrella.. Drag and drop the saved SHSH file one TinyUmbrella Windows..
     Then hit the Display SHSH button to verify if it’s the right SHSH

    Hello everyone I need help… I just got new iphone 3gs with os 4.0 locked to o2, but i need only jailbreak (for obvious reasons). And here is the problem i got newest version of redsn0w which can jailbreak, but when i show ispw file to redsn0w nothing happen… Also when i try downgrade 4.0 to 3.1.3 had error 3194, and even adding 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com to host file nothing changed… Can any one advice me how can i jailbreak my phone? Kind regards

      downgrade is possible only if you’ve SHSH blobs saved..
      RedSn0w doesn’t support 3GS @ 4.0

    Ok i have ipod touch 3.1.2 jailbroken by blackra1n (theathred)……i want to restore back to original 3.1.2 so that i can use Spirited to unteathred my ipod touch. I have tried using tinyumbrella but it keeps saving the 4.0 SHSH, not my 3.1.2 SHSH. why? and how?

    Does it matter if I am running on iTunes 8.2.1.6? Is it still possible to get the ECID ShSh blob from a custom firmware? Well my JB iphone 3G is not running on it but it will later and I was wondering if it will be necessary to retrieve the ShSh blob again.

    i’m on 4.0.1 i saved the shsh for 4.0, 4.0.1 and 4.0.2.. unfortunately, i only get to know about shsh recently so i didn’t manage to get the shsh saved for 3.X version. however i can downgrade to 3.1.3, the only problem is i don’t get push notifications. but the lag issues on ios4 is getting too much that i’m thinking of downgrading back to 3.1.3.. is there any way to get push notification without my SHSH?

      if you running 3G then you don’t need SHSH. but run the TinyUmbrella anyway .or restore, i found i got some error.but run the TinyUmbrella (despite it doesn’t have SHSH for 3.0)

      on iOS 4.x, you need to turn off Spotlight search, the speed should pickup like if you running iOS 3.x, turn off what you don’t need/use.

        thank u for the reply, the only problem when i downgrade to 3.1.3 is i don’t get any push notifications coming in. now i’m on 4.0.1, and the only thing that’s stopping me from downgrading is having to do without push notifications.. but the lags are frustrating..

    I have an iPhone 4. Version 4.0.2. I want to downgrade to 4.0.1 i did the tiny umbrella thing, downloaded firmware, BUT. when i restore it, it gives me error “3014″ which is a tinyumbrella problem i assume. i havent jailbroken my phone in the past. WHAT DO I DO?!

      did you save your SHSH ?
      click on Advance option. and you should see the iphone FW 4.0.2, select 4.0.1 and try hit SAVE SHSH, if it success then Cydia has a copy of your SHSH, then you can try to restore to 4.0.1

      Your best bet is to wait until the 4.1 OS jailbreak. You probably wont need SHSH blobs and the dev team is preparing a jailbreak release.

    Quick question and I think that this has sort of been touched on, but I just can’t get a definitive answer on the web. I have an iphone 4g running ios 4.0.1 which is jailbroken and unlocked with blobs on file with cydia. I bought a new iphone 4g that came with 4.1 today – (long story).

    Anyways, is there a way to use my blob on file with cydia from my OLD 4g iphone to downgrade my NEW 4g iphone from 4.1 to 4.0.1?

    Note: Both phones are still in my possession. So, would switching the sim cards enable me to do this or does that have nothing to do with this. Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    My tiny umbrella always comes up with the error when I open the program: “do not have administrator permission, port 80 is in use or your host file canot be changed”

    I know that i have administrator permission and that i have used the correct password, i have closed all other applications so port 80 should be open.. what changed do i need to make to “host” file and where do i find it?

      you cant save shsh blobs for 4.0.1 fw now.. appe has stoped signing for 4.0.1 fw, means you cant downgrade and JailBreak. you have to wait for the greenpois0n jailbreak, which will jailbreak 4.1 fw, meanwhile save shsh blobs for 4.1 fw,

    I have an iphone 4 and I upgraded to 4.0.1 without saving any ssh blobs. I currently installed TinyUmbrella and saved the ssh blobs, however it is only showing OS 4.0.2 and higher 4.1, 4.2, etc Does this mean I cannot save the 4.0.1 ssh blob anymore?

      Yep thats correct because the 4.0.1 window is closed and can not save SHSH anymore. I would upgrade to 4.1 and stay there till the 4.2.1 or 4.3 untethered jailbreak is released

    hi can anyone help me restore my phone i tried to erase all data on my phone and erased my os also i don’t know which firmware version i had on my phone now when i try restoring from i tunes its taking more then 7 hours every time i keep it downloading it says the connection timed out when i come back. so i downloaded firmware 4.2.1 and tried restoring with the shift restore but it gives me a error 1015 my phone is a factory unlocked one…can anyone help me please

      You need to modify your hosts file in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc. I had the same problem.

      You should put a line like this

      # 127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com

      remove all other gs.apple.com lines

      I dont think there is an unlock yet for 2.10. I have not heard from Dev Team say anything about it.
      Anyways you can only jailbreak at this this time by going up to 4.2.1 or , if you have SHSH blobs saved, you can stay at 4.1 and just use greeenpois0n.

      If you saved your SHSH before u might be able to downgrade to a previous version depends with SHSH you have. Plug it to tiny umbrella and it might tell u if had any previous SHSH. There’d might be another better way

      Do you remenber, when you were jailbroken, going into cydia and checking “make my life easier” button or backing up your SHSH with tiny umbrella? If so you probably can downgrade yopur firmware

    Hi, I really need some help and advice here!
    I just got home with a brand new iPhone and
    wanted to save shsh with tinyumbrella.
    All works perfect but tinyumbrella saves only
    one shsh file for me and its called “iPhone4 4.3″ !!!
    My iphone has version 4.2.1 and I want to save shsh
    to be able to go back to 4.2.1

    Am I doing something wrong!? Can you please tell me
    what you think?

      TU can save SHSH blobs currently being signed by Apple (only latest FW) or those already saved via Cydia.
      Please read before you ask.

        I am sorry! I have been reading for hours now but apparently did not understand few things!

        I thought that my iphone has firmware version 4.2.1 and so it
        has the 4.2.1 shsh files!? It dose not?

        So for me is no longer possible to have 4.2.1 shsh and if I upgrade later to 4.3 I will not be able to downgrade or prevent my modem firmware from upgrading also?

      U can still jailbreak using greenpoisoin, but if for any reason u need to restore you have to upgrade to 4.3

    I recently bought an used Ipad 1. It is jailbroken ( when checking in cydia it has the source repo666ultrasnow). I want to upgrade to 4.2.1, and then to jailbreak again. Do I need to save blobs too ? Also, which jailbreak could I use ( Greenpoison, Pwnage) ? Do I need to make first the upgrade to 4.2.1 and then the Jailbreak? Or when doing the Jailbreak to 4.2.1. ( in spite that my Ipad it is jailbroken) it upgrades and jailbreak simultanously ?

          You can also check in Cydia (on the home page) which SHSH u have. If u dont have 4.2.1 I suggest staying at the current firmware until a 4.3 untethered jailbreak comes out

            So, I need to wait until a Jailbreak get developed for 4.3.1?

      @lors you can re-save SHSH with tiny umbrella. It will tell you with one u have for which firmware. After that than u would know if u can downgrade

    My phone is Iphone 4 on baseband 03.10.01 locked. I tried to unlock it by gevey and it works. Its original ios is 4.2.1 . So, i updated my firmware via itunes and i tried to jailbreak it with snowbreeze. After all done, i tunes keeps saying me that my sim is invalid and i need a valid sim to activate my iphone.
    I did not save my SHSH blobs for 4.2.1. So, what should i do now to save my phone. Please give me ideas.

      there is no way then to go back to 4.2.1, i would make sure that gevey sim works with the newest firmware which i though it did. Maybe there is a hack that fixes that issue with itunes

    Hi Need help…I have got I phone 4 4.3.3 IOS with BaseBnad 4.10.01 thinking Gevey Sim will work but it is not working now…can you anyone suggest how can I unlock it and use other GSM network..

    i tried more time to downgrade 4.3.5 to 4.3.3 i did all steps but every time given me error 20.
