Here comes one of the expected development for jailbroken iPad 3G. iPhone dev Team has succeeded in sending SMS Text messages from iPad 3G. The iPad 3G shown in the video below is jailbroken (of course with Spirit Jailbreak) and Musclenerd is sending SMS messages from iPad using a raw AT+CMGS command sent to the iPad Baseband.

The iPad is using a T-Mobile SIM cut down to the size of a microSIM and sending message through its baseband (no GUI). This requires a SIM with SMS Plan.
According to Musclenerd, the iPhoneSMS.app does not work properly on iPad for now and the AT&T plan attached to the SIM that came with iPad 3G is not allowing SMS messaging.
