How to Jailbreak iPhone OS 3.1.3 with Spirit Jailbreak

In this guide you’ll learn how to jailbreak iPhone 3.1.3 with Spirit jailbreak. Spirit is an untethered jailbreak for iPhone 3GS, 3G, iPhone 2G running iPhone OS 3.1.3 and 3.1.2 along with all iPod Touches and iPad.

jailbreak iphone os 3.1.3 spirit In order to jailbreak iPhone OS 3.1.3 with Spirit Jailbreak your iPhone must be activated (Activated means >> Not stuck at emergency or Connect to iTunes screen.) Jailbreaking iPhone with spirit jailbreak is very easy, and if I’m not wrong, easier than Blackra1n jailbreak.

Warning: iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G users who depends on Unlock MUST stay away from iPhone OS 3.1.3 otherwise you’d lose unlocking ability, may be forever and your iPhone will be nothing more than an iPod Touch. Unlockers must be using a custom firmware made with PwnageTool or Sn0wbreeze to jailbreak and then unlock iPhone.

Reminder: As reminded over and over again, just make sure to save SHSH blobs for iPad 3.2. SHSH blobs are not required for jailbreaking but to secure future jailbreak. you can save SHSH blobs using Firmware Umbrella and AutoSHSH (Use any of them.)

To jailbreak iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G and iPhone 2G on iPhone OS 3.1.3 with Spirit Jailbreak, simply follow the step-by-step guide below: (Steps are same for both Mac and Windows)

Jailbreak iPhone OS 3.1.3 with Spirit Jailbreak

***All the downloads are linked at the bottom of this guide. Backup your iPhone via iTunes first.

STEP 1

Download Spirit Jailbreak from below (Both Windows and MAC versions are available).

STEP 2

Update your iTunes to latest version (9.1.1). Download link below. (any version from 9 to 9.1.1 should work.)
iPhone firmware must be 3.1.3 or 3.1.2.

STEP 3

Run the downloaded Spirit jailbreak.

ATTENTION Windows 7/Vista users: You need to run the Spirit in compatibility mode for Windows 98. To do this, simply right click on the Spirit.exe file and go to Properties. Then go to Compatibility tab and select Windows 98 from the dropdown of Compatibility Mode. Hit the Apply and then OK button. Then run the Spirit.

Without compatibility mode you may encounter error c0000005.

STEP 4

Connect your iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G or iPhone 2G to your computer via USB cable and once the iPhone is connected and Spirit detects it,
Hit the Jailbreak button to jailbreak iPhone.

STEP 5

Spirit will jailbreak iPhone 3GS, 3G, 2G OS 3.1.3. When the jailbreak process is complete, Jailbreak Succeeded! message will appear. Hit the Quit button.

Your iPhone will reboot and some progress bar will appear. Once the process is complete your iPhone will be jailbroken and sweet Cydia icon will be resting on your iPhone Home screen.

Congratz! you’ve successfully jailbreak iPhone Os 3.1.3 with Spirit Jailbreak.. Have fun with your jailbroken iPhone 3.1.3.

Thanks you for stuff.I have tried this..jailbreak is down..But i am tring to unlock my phone..i have successfully installed the ultrasn0w..But searching for single..I am getting error unable to load network list..

Please help me to fix this..thanks in advance.

I have an Iphone 3GS 3.1.2 (7D11) MC133X with a baseband 5.11, I wanted to jailbreak with blackrain sometime ago but there is too much saying my iphone is tethered and each time i power down and back on i would need to reload blackrain so i avoid it.
my big question is WILL THIS WORK without stuffing things up and wanting a reload each reboot of the iphone.

    I am unsure if its unlocked? think it is, I have not updated it to 3.1.2 so does that matter? All i know if i have been told its tethered.

The jailbreak works fine but now I can’t update some of the apps I bought from itunes earlier, pls help. I see the updates available on app store but when I try to update it, it just says can’t connect to itunes store.

  I have a similar problem only I can get a little farther and can click on the updates but my email address doesn’t show up so I can’t update or buy games off the AppStore. The email address that keeps showing up I have never seen before and is from a completely different continent than mine. Please help thanx

Hi i tried to jail break my itouch after i updated the OS to 3.1.3, i followed the steps it shows successful. But it stuck at a colorful screen and loaded for very long. so i force reset it. Now i on it, it’s stuck at the apple logo. wat do i do? thanks.

I had try to run the Spirit but it say error:Spirit requires iTunes 9 to function. Pls install a correct version of iTunes then run Spirit again.

Pls advice.

I’m having problems with my jailbreak. I’m running your standard 3GS never been jailbroken or attempted and it’s on 3.1.3. When I attempt to jailbreak it’s saying it was successful, but during the reboot process, my loading bar doesn’t fill at all and I get sent back to my phone locked screen. No cydia app at all. Is there something I’m missing? I’ve watched about 10 videos and read about 15 different forums and don’t understand what I’m? doing wrong…I’ve retried no kidding about 30 times…any help is greatly appreciated

why not perform a fresh 3.1.3 restore and then try Spirit

The fresh restore didn’t work. I ended up having to right click and open out of my downloads from firefox instead of opening from the desktop. Hope this will help someone else who is having the same problem!
