As per iSuppli, the iPad WiFi 16GB model costs Apple about $259.60, including a $95 screen and $26.80 processor. So, just the touch screen of the iPad represents 40% of its cost. So, this cost estimate shows healthy profit margins for Apple on iPad. Of course this cost estimate does not include research and development, marketing, and licensing from the study related expenses.
