Apple has added a special page in the iTunes App Store which leads to the list of hot apps and games of the year 2009.
All the top sellers listed are expensive apps and costs around $5 or more which means the lists are compiled on the based of revenue not the units sold.
If we have a look on the gaming list, along with some renowned games for iPhone like SIMS, NFS Undercover and Flight Control, there are quite a number of titles from smaller gaming publishers dominating the games category.
The best apps of 2009 shows that GPS apps are quite popular among iPhone users. Apps like Navigon and TomTom that costs around 100 bucks are on the list. A couple of music apps from the house of Smule also made their way to the 2009 list.
