Dev Team: iTunes 9 Does Not Affect Jailbreak & Unlock but Avoid iPhone OS 3.1

Apple has released iPhone OS 3.1 and iTunes 9 on their Mega event. With the release of each new iPhone firmware, the most frequently asked question by the users who have jailbroken and/or unlocked their iPhone is whether it’s safe to update to the latest firmware or not? Will the new iTune play well with the new iPhone OS?

To answer the above question, Dev-Team member MuscleNerd has tweeted this:

iTunes 9 plays well with already-jailbroken and unlocked devices

and also warned all users who have jailbreak and/or unlocked their iPhone to stay away from iPhone OS 3.1:

3G+3GS unlockers .. you must not update to official 3.1! unlock needs pre-hacked 3.1 with 04.26.08

The iPhone OS 3.1 updates the iPhone Baseband (modem firmware) from 04.26.08 in iPhone OS 3.0 to 05.11.07. So iPhone you want to jailbreak and unlock your iPhone and yet update to OS 3.1 then wait for iPhone Dev team to release their updated version PwnageTool that let you update to the latest firmware without updating the Baseband.

MuscleNerd has confirmed that the Dev Team will release PwnageTool for iPhone OS 3.1

I accidently upgraded to the new iphone os 3.1 and firmware 05.11.07. Is there a way to cancel what I did? If not, how do I jailbreak and unlock my iphone now?

I had huge problems with my iphone today, it froze when I wanted to turn it on so I had to restore them, after I did that I wanted to jailbrake it again but I couldn´t. I start looking for an answer on the internet until I found this article, What do I do know? does this mean I´ll never be able to jailbrake my phone?
I would appreciate any help

u can revert back to firmware 3.0
and try jailbreaking it

I cannot revert back to 3.0 either when I try my iPhone stays in recovery mode. Jailbreak does not work at all with redsn0w 8 or 7. Just don’t download,update to 3.1 like we did
