   @ David.
   Nopes.. you need to download both in order to get the complete file.
   ipsw file is actually achived and then splitted into parts because of max 200MB file size limit of Rapidshare.com.

   Download both parts, put them in the same folder and extract any one. Both will be extracted and you’ll get what u r looking for.

   It is very simple…download all the files
   Install Winrar
   Put ll file in a same folder
   Then right click on the first or any file and click extract here…
   You will get what you are looking for….
   i hope this answers your question…

    Hi all
    i have a question about iPhone OS 3.0 Beta 2 for iPhone 2G for mac ( the dmg file)

    after i have download it and got the ipsw file from the dmg file, can i just use it on my mac with the itunes ??? is it already “Custom restore” file ??
    because there is no quickpwan for mac or pwangtool for the Os 3 so how can i hack it ???

    did someone use it on his mac and if you did , then how and with what ?

    @ yakirmanz..

    you got the right file.. Yes you can upgrade using that ipsw file.. But for activation you need to be a registered developer @ Apple. It’s not custom but original file.
    After upgrading you’ll be able to downgrade firmware but not the baseband (means no unlocking)

    @ hack
    there’s no official jailbreak or unlock out there for iPhone OS 3.0 from iPhone Dev Team. So, it’s totally up to you what to do.

    ps. iPod Touch users are free of Unlocking tension so they can give OS 3.0 a shot

    I just installed Cracked applications on my iphone 2g by studying ur guide.these are working well bt now when i download applications from the apple itunes which are free then they dont run on iphone.msg comes
    These cant be installed coz these arent authorized for this computer.

    Can u help me in this matter.plz

    @ Umar

    you need to authorize this computer for your iTunes account.

    To authorize this computer click Store from the top menu and select Authorize computer from the drop down. Now sync the iTunes with your iPhone again and the application should install without issue.

    Note: You are limited to authorize 5 computers per iTunes account.

    Please ask the question in the relevant post next time.

    Hi Admin …
    so let me see if i got it right :
    i have a 2g iphone ….. working on a non apple supported carrier. so as you can understand its a simfree phone .

    I have an account in apple but not a developer one . just the regular one ( not even with credit card )

    after i will upgrade with this file …… could i use the phone or i have to use an legit carrier ( at&t , t-mobile … ) and to have the developer account ???

    when i use the words “Use the phone” i mean to activate and also make calles of course and uploading crack app on it .

    1- After installing iPhone OS 3.0 beta 2, You need a developer account ($99) to activate it after installation.

    2- When activated (after providing a developer ID) your old hacks would not be working anymore. n there’s no solution out there to unlock iPhone OS 3.0 yet (means you need a legit carrier).

    However there’s a jailbreak solution available for OS 3.0 from an unofficial source not from iPhone Dev-Team.

    Hi,i read ur answer above to last user.i also got iphone 2g .2.2.1firmware.
    Now i wanna ask that can i upgrade software to os 3.o beta.i m asking about beta.not beta 2.
    I got no developer id and only apple id which is without credit card.
    And if i upgrade it to 3.0 then can it come back to 2.2.1or nt.
    One more thing i read ur caution about 3g phone that it can become unoperable when upgraded to 3.0 n we dont have the developer id.coz we can nt cme back.i m asking u that is this the same case with 2g.either this caution is for 2g or nt.
