Skype for iPhone Coming Tuesday, It’s Official
As reported earlier, now it’s official that Skype app for iPhone and iPod Touch is coming Tuesday on iPhone App Store, says CNET. WiFi connect will be required to make and receive calls using this VoIP application. However, Skype text chat will work fine over 3G and EDGE connections
Skype app for iPhone will handling conference calling as a participant, not initiator. Some of the iPhone-centric features include taking a photo using Skype and using it as avatar or adding a picture from camera roll.
Currently, iPhone apps like Fring, Nimbuzz and Truphone can talk to the Skype voice Network. Skype app for iPhone in its first release is not going to include SMS, file transfer, call waiting and voicemail tool. After getting known to all these features it’s for sure that Skype for iPhone needs something more to get that number of iPhone users that it deserves. But we can’t deny the power of big blue S.
